Is This Trip Right for You?

Pace: Expect 3-4 hours of walking every touring day, as well as considerable time standing. There are two days with up to 6 hours of walking.

Terrain: On this tour, you may need to walk on uneven and challenging terrain, navigate steep steps or slopes, and encounter cobblestone streets. Be prepared to traverse gravelly and mossy surfaces.

Weather Conditions: Iceland's climate is known for being extreme and unpredictable, with rapidly changing weather conditions. Be prepared for cold, wet, and windy weather.

Transportation: There are two days with over 5 hours of driving.

Uniqueness of Destination: Hotels are typically sparsely designed, yet functional, reflecting the understated Nordic lifestyle. Guest room amenities are similarly minimalistic, bathrooms small and often lacking items one might expect in European hotels such as bathmats, elaborate toiletry selections, luggage racks, in-room safes, and air-conditioning. Please be aware that Iceland is an expensive destination. Meals may be expensive as most of Iceland's food is imported. Vegetarian menus are limited, especially outside of the capital, and certain dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated.

Things to Consider: This tour is not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. Light hiking is required to access some sites. Most flights arrive in Iceland between 4-7 AM, however hotel check-in begins at 2 PM. Only the pre-purchase of a hotel night will guarantee early check-in.
